Nate Barr, a composer for television shows and films, gave us the wonderfully complicated task of giving his recently purchased Wurlitzer theater pipe organ an appropriate home in a new 8,800 square-foot music studio.
Like the sound of the organ, the studio itself conjures impressions of bygone eras – 1920s art deco theaters and English men’s clubs.
In the main recording chamber – which doubles as a movie screening room – a custom metal relief frieze highlights the star instrument.
